  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Will start after all

Embiid (illness) will start Monday's game against the Heat, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Embiid was downgraded to doubtful earlier in the day due to an illness, but he was spotted warming up ahead of Monday's tipoff and was ultimately cleared to play. It's unclear whether he'll be on any type of minutes restriction, as the team will likely monitor him closely as the game progresses.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Warming up Monday

Embiid, who's listed as doubtful due to an illness, is warming up ahead of Monday's game against the Heat, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

Embiid was initially listed as questionable but got downgraded to doubtful Monday morning. However, now it appears he's trending more toward questionable again. Either way, if he gets the green light, Embiid will likely be limited against Miami. The 2022-23 MVP has made only two appearances in the current campaign. He made his season debut against the Knicks on Nov. 12, playing 26 minutes while recording 13 points, five assists, three rebounds and a block. That was the first night of a back-to-back set, and Embiid was back on the sidelines the next night. However, he returned to action Friday in Orlando, posting 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 33 minutes.

  • 76ers' Adem Bona: Rejoins NBA club

The 76ers recalled Bona from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Monday, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

With Joel Embiid (illness) doubtful for Monday's game against Miami, Bona will be available to provide emergency depth at center for the 76ers.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Downgraded to doubtful

Embiid (illness) has been downgraded to doubtful for Monday's game against Miami, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

Embiid was initially listed as questionable, but it appears the 76ers are planning to be without their franchise player Monday. With Embiid likely to sit, Andre Drummond is a candidate to see his fantasy value increase significantly, while players such as Jared McCain, Kelly Oubre and Guerschon Yabusele could see increased roles as well.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Iffy for Monday vs. Heat

Embiid (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's matchup against the Heat.

Embiid has been a mainstay on the injury report and could miss yet another game due to an illness. While the big man's status is concerning for Monday's game, he's not listed with a knee injury anymore, a positive sign of his progression through that issue. If the 2023 NBA MVP is ruled out, Guerschon Yabusele and Andre Drummond are candidates for an increased role.

  • 76ers' Paul George: Logs four steals Friday

George racked up 13 points (4-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, five assists and four steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 98-86 loss to the Magic.

George was responsible for four of the 76ers' 10 steals, Friday which somewhat made up for his shortcomings on offense, though he did finish as Philadelphia's third-leading scorer behind Jared McCain (29) and Joel Embiid (20). Through six regular-season games, George is averaging 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.3 steals over 30.2 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Scores 20 points vs. Magic

Embiid supplied 20 points (5-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 10-10 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 33 minutes during Friday's 98-86 loss to Orlando.

Embiid failed to connect on his five three-point attempts Friday, but he did hit all 10 of his free-throw tries and finished as the 76ers' second-leading scorer behind Jared McCain (20). Embiid did manage to crack 30-plus minutes in his second game back from a left knee injury, and with two days of rest, he could see that amount of playing time against the Heat on Monday.

  • 76ers' Jared McCain: Leading scorer vs. Orlando

McCain recorded 29 points (10-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound and four assists across 31 minutes before fouling out of Friday's 98-86 loss to the Magic.

Even with Joel Embiid and Paul George returning to action Friday, McCain remained in the 76ers' starting lineup off the heels of a career-high 34 points against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. McCain carried that momentum into Friday night, leading the 76ers in scoring while connecting on a team-high five three pointers. The rookie first-round pick is carving out a big role for himself, and while his role will diminish when Tyrese Maxey returns from a right hamstring strain, McCain could remain in the starting lineup ahead of veteran Kyle Lowry. Over his last five games, McCain has averaged 26.2 points on 47.9 percent shooting (including 44.0 percent from three on 10.0 3PA/G), 4.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds over 32.2 minutes per contest.

  • 76ers' Jared McCain: Sticking in starting lineup

McCain will remain in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Magic, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

With Paul George (rest), Joel Embiid (rest) and Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) out, McCain made his first start of the season against Cleveland on Wednesday. The rookie exploded for 34 points, 10 assists and two steals in 38 minutes during a 114-106 loss. George and Embiid will be back in action Friday, but McCain is sticking in the starting lineup, sending Kelly Oubre and Guerschon Yabusele to the bench. Over his last four games, McCain has averaged 25.5 points on 45.5 percent shooting.

  • 76ers' Andre Drummond: Available Friday

Drummond (illness) is listed as available for Friday's matchup versus the Magic.

Drummond was a game-time decision for Friday's matchup while dealing with an illness, though he will seemingly suit up. The veteran big man could operate under a minutes restriction with Joel Embiid back and Guerschon Yabusele coming off the bench as well.

  • 76ers' Kelly Oubre: Moves to bench

Oubre isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the Magic.

Paul George will replace Oubre in the starting five Friday. Oubre will come off the bench for the first time this season and is averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31.7 minutes across his last 10 appearances.

  • 76ers' Guerschon Yabusele: Back to bench Friday

Yabusele will come off the bench in Friday's game against the Magic.

Yabusele got the starting nod for the first time this season in Wednesday's loss to the Cavaliers, during which he supplied 10 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes. While Andre Drummond is available for Friday's matchup, he is dealing with an illness, and Yabusele will likely play a significant role off the bench behind Joel Embiid.

  • 76ers' Andre Drummond: Will be game-time call Friday

Drummond (illness) will attempt to go through his pregame workout to determine if he can play Friday against the Magic, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Drummond wasn't at shootaround earlier Friday but will do everything he can to give it a go and play Friday. If the big man is cleared, he should see minutes off the bench in a backup role since Joel Embiid (knee/rest) has been cleared to play.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Should see increased minutes

Coach Nick Nurse said he would like to get Embiid some more minutes in Friday's game versus the Magic, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.

Embiid had previously played just 26 minutes in his season debut after missing time due to a knee injury and suspension. However, with Philadelphia having two days off until they play Miami on Monday, the superstar big man could see his playing time increased to around 30 minutes.
